Soccer Maddness

Sam's first game was at noon.  It was single elimination & we had been bumped to the A bracket.  No-one expected us to win.  The girls played an amazing game & beat Riverview 4-1.  The second game was against Zanesville, the top seed.  Again, no-one expected us to win.  We beat them in sudden death overtime 2-1.  On to the championship game... They won!  This is a team of 4 - 8th graders, 2 - 7th graders & the rest 6th graders.  They needed 11 to field a team.  They played against girls MUCH bigger than them.  It was amazing to watch as they each played their best game of the entire year.  They were so tired.  That second game was all heart.  You could see how much they wanted it.  I'm so impressed with the coach.  It didn't matter to him who they played he always told the girls if they played good soccer they could win.  Everyone is beatable.  He took 6th graders that had never played before & helped them become decent players.  He worked the field with what he had and always had the attitude they could win.  Sam learned a lot this year & had a fabulous time playing.  It was a great way to end a fun season... Champs!

Casey, Rebekah, Isabelle, Porter, Victoria, & Mom were all troupers... 8 hours at the soccer fields!  Dad had to leave for work after the 1st game... unfortunately he missed all the excitement.  Everyone crawled into bed about 9pm, utterly exhausted!  Ryan joined me about 2AM.
