Day 1 & 2 vacation

Our trip out west was fabulous.  What made it fabulous was all the family that took time off to spend a few days with us.  More than a few people asked us about the kids & school... I just replied family time is more important that reading, writing, and arithmetic!  Everyone received their school assignments on Friday & completed them before leaving on our trip Monday morning.  I loved a few of the kids assignments:  have fun, bring back pictures, send us a postcard!  We arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare.  As always we received quite a few stares, looks, and "are these all yours?"  I  decided to think positive & take them all as compliments.   We arrived in Chicago & flew out before the blizzard was to hit, arriving in Salt Lake City early.  Tressa picked us up & took us back to Jared's for a wonderful dinner & the beginning of the fun.  Victoria happily said goodbye to us & turned to finish watching Dora... no separation anxiety when Dora's playing.  We stopped by the grocery store... tradition is on vacation the kids get to pick out any junk cereal they want.  Then, on to Wilford's.  We made up beds & hit the sack.
Thanks Derald & Mark(Shelly) for all the bedding & supplies.  Tuesday morning started early at the rental shop for the kids skis.  By 10 am everyone was on the slopes having a ball.  Jared & Danielle took their boys out of school, found a babysitter for the 2 little ones & joined us at Wolf Mountain.  Cameron ditched school & hitched a ride with Grandma to meet Jared for a ride up & a day of fun.  Neal(Kathryn) pulled their kids out of school & met us around noon.  Casey & Sam took a snowboarding lesson... they had a MUCH better first day than Ryan & I!  They both took to it really well.  Casey is converted.  Cameron (10) was such a great sport.  He's been snowboarding for a few years now but was so kind to everyone.  He spent most of his day on the bunny hills with his cousins.  He took me on my first jump... I am converted.  I just need to get a lot better!  Rebekah, Isabelle, & Lauryn were inseparable!
They were so fun to watch.  Ali was amazing for her first day.  Everyone had a ball.  Ali & Lauryn headed home with us to Grandpa's house.  The kids played out in the snow for another hour or so.  Dinner was courtesy of Burger King.  We ended the night with a little college basketball.
(Tuesday was the 1st time I lost Porter...)  this kid will kill me with worry!  He has no fear.  He loved walking off in search of the perfect snow drift to play in.  We DID come home with him.
