Contracts are signed... closing dates are the end of April & beginning of May. Hopefully Ryan is able to move with us. The drafted contract had a 90 day out. The final one... we didn't read close enough changed to a 180 day out with exceptions approved by the board. We are crossing our fingers the board okays the 90 days. The kids are loving all the snow. We are suppose to get a bit more tomorrow. We'll see if they have school. A few happenings around here:
The kids have a new piano teacher... let's just call her Melanie Poppins... practically perfect in every way! The kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her! I LOVE her... they practice everyday, happily. Casey & Rebekah both were quite proud they memorized new songs before the week was up... this tends to happen when you practice everyday! I am going to take my time finding a new piano teacher when we move. I see how much personality plays a part in the kids enjoying piano.
Snow days... lots of them. We had 10" of snow this last storm. Ryan was actually home... he's always been at work when the snow comes piling up. The kids are good shovelers, they help a lot. However, it was SO nice to have Ryan here to help out. Ryan took a few kids and cleared off a few of the elderly ladies drives.
We've been trying to find a balance in our coming & goings. We've decided to put family time as a priority. We have so much fun playing games with each other. The kids turn into mush heads & crazy things come out of their mouths... some of which makes no sense. We've decided to chose 1 sport. We are going to keep our winter time open for skiing/boarding. With Colorado ski resorts within 10 hrs we'll plan a couple trips there plus take advantage of the little hills just 20 minutes north of us (in Missouri).
Sports played such an integral part in both Ryan & my growing up years. It's hard at times to separate the role it played in my life & the role it is in our children's lives. I'm finding time with Ryan & me is what the kids really desire. It's nights spent lying around in a circle playing phase ten that bring happiness & contentment. We'll see how the next few years "play" out.
