Stake Conference Weekend

The adult session was wonderful... exactly what I needed to hear. There was a lot about family & kids. A few things from this weekend that really hit home...

Proverbs 22:6

Home... a place of love, security, peace!

A happy home is an anchor in this life.

Our homes should be havens of kindness.

Above all else... BE KIND

There was a mom on the phone laughing & carrying on with a friend or sister. When she got off the phone the little boy asked, "Mom, why don't you laugh with me?"

Sometimes we are trying so hard to raise "good" kids we forget to enjoy them!

"Be kind, laugh a little, sacrifice to spend time with your kids. Raising kids should be one of life's greatest joys." JW Marriott Jr. (He gave a great talk Saturday night.) Love is the glue that holds the family together. Home is where we learn to laugh, cry, love, trust, forgive, etc. Keep trying to be good parents but, enjoy the process.

The temple is our modern day Bethel. Put away the strange God's. Genesis 35 Pitch our tents towards the Temple. Faith precedes the miracle.

What I hear I forget

What I see I may remember

What I do I know.

Be ye doers of the word, not just hearers.

This IS the time to prepare to meet God.

rid ourselves of past mistakes

learn to handle past defeats

focus our energy outside ourselves stop focusing on our own inadequacies

take charge of our lives make things change, act don't be acted upon

work hard to develop spirituality... pray, ask for help, study the scriptures, attend the temple.
