What does a goldfish and earthworm have in common? They both have visited Casey's stomach and intestines! Last night at the YW Cake Auction they had fishbowls with goldfish on the tables. Casey pulled one out of the bowl & down it went. His Uncle Kasey gave him a dollar. His friend Grant held out for $3... from his mom! Poor Carter couldn't get anyone to give him money. No one wanted a 7 year old swallowing a fish! They were trying to pool their money for the auction. Everything was way above their meager collection. After a few desserts were auctioned off & the boys bidding their meager amounts I took pity on them. We had decided to spend a certain amount for the night. I handed Casey half of it. He and his friends had a great time bidding and out bidding a couple adults. It was fun to watch them all agree on what they wanted then the bidding would begin. I think they bid a couple times in a row upping the price themselves. It was just as cute to watch them loose. They knew how much they had left after paying a big price for the ice-cream sundae basket. They would bid up to that amount then have to watch it go to someone else. They did win some lemon cupcakes and spider man cupcakes. As soon as they won they were distributed to anyone who wanted one. It was the highlight of the night for me. I loved watching the big group of kids win with such excitement. The YW did a really nice job. Sam fell into bed exhausted! They all had tables to wait on. They were running in & out all night. I'm sure it was a good experience for them. The ward was extremely generous, the fundraiser was a huge success.
