We had a busy day... the morning started early with a cross country meet.  Sam ran well.  The last two meets she has finally figured out she can push harder and run faster.  Today was her last meet of the season.  She is looking forward to next year already.  She has a lot more confidence now.  She only wishes she had found it a hair earlier.  She's run varsity all year and got settled into "her" place.  The 2nd to last race he used a JV race as a runoff for the 7th V spot.  Sam not only came in 1st for her team but actually won the entire race.  She PR-ed & time wise was the 4th V runner that meet.  Today she was the 4th V runner in for her team also.  She missed state by 5 places.  It's been a great learning experience.  After helping clean up after the race, our school hosted it, we returned home for a little Saturday afternoon cleaning.  Victoria, Porter & Isabelle found themselves banished to the couch for sometime.  Rebekah was invited to a friends.  After finishing her chores she rode her four-wheeler down to their house.  The rest of us finished a bit more cleaning during which Porter continued to ask if we could go to Spencer's football game, "It is the Superbowl, mom!"  We found out the game started at 7Pm.  We threw our roller blades and sticks in the back of the suburban & off he went for a quick game at the church parking lot.  It was boys (Grandpa, Casey & Porter) against the girls (Mom, Sam, Izy & Tori).  Grandpa & Porter were very determined to win.  Grandpa was a leading scorer.  It was so much fun watching him get excited and run around with us playing hockey.  We grabbed a couple pizza's and had front row, 50 yd. line seats to the Superbowl!  Those little 2nd graders played their hearts out.  Football is a pretty big thing around here.  It was funny seeing all those dads lined up along the fence watching so intently!  Porter knew boys on both teams but was cheering for Pirate Blacks.  They ended up winning.  Porter rushed out onto the field to congratulate his friends.  DQ is right next to the HS parking lot, we just couldn't resist a cherry dip cone to top the night off.  I tucked Izy, Porter & Victoria in bed and finished up a bit of laundry.  Sam, Casey & I started watching Invincible.  Rebekah came home and joined us.  All in all, it's been a good day.  We've laughed and had fun together & everyone went to bed with a smile.
