A little Halloween fun with Grandpa "Smee"!

Mother's Day... these are my thoughts of this silly day....

There are all kinds of mothers.  Fat moms, skinny moms, fit moms. Tall moms, short moms, average moms. Happy moms, sad moms, angry moms. Overwhelmed moms, disappointed moms, frustrated moms. Joyous moms, smiling moms, funny moms. Moms on drugs, moms on soda, moms on chocolate, moms on the street. Moms that hug, moms that hit, moms that cry, moms that yell.  Mentally ill moms, anxiety ridden moms, depressed moms, determined moms. Abused moms, tormented moms, tortured moms. Proud moms, loving moms, responsible moms. Fun moms, exciting moms, outgoing moms.  Quiet moms, firm moms, enduring moms. Sick moms, healthy moms, dying moms. There are no perfect mothers. I wish we would be kinder and more forgiving of our weaknesses.  I wish we could see each other the way the Lord sees us. I wish we would lift each others hearts and cheer each other on amid this journey of motherhood.  This is a journey that will bring every woman to their knees pleading for help and guidance.  Let us support one another in our sorrows as well as celebrate each other's joys. I wish we could put down the walls of perfection and let each other in to see the worries, stresses, messes and mistakes.  My life is filled with them.  

I woke this morning to fighting, frustrated children and a lousy breakfast....

That does not define me as a mother.  My kids fight, my husband doesn't quite know what to do on Mother's day.  That's ok.  We are growing and developing our strengths while attempting to overcome  our weaknesses.  We are on this journey together and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
