Day 77

Today we set off to fill sandbags up in St. Joseph. The Missouri River is flooding and they needed help. On our way we found a semi truck stopped on a hill on Jones Meyer Rd. A pallet of soybeans had fallen out/off his truck. He was loading one bag at a time. We pulled over to help. Holy cow!!! Huffing a bag of soybeans up that hill was hard. Lucky for us 3 guys in a truck saw us and stopped. We loaded the bags into their truck, drove it right up to the back of the semi and unloaded the soybeans back into the semi trailer. Have you ever seen soybeans that are ready to plant? They are bright green. Some had spilled out and we made the mistake of stepping on them. They are so slick. It was like the scene from Home Alone when the burglers step on the marbles. It was a great way to spend the first day of Spring Break.

That hill doesn't look so big but it is!!
