Day 222

Another day at Washington Square Park. We made 120 burritos, mixed 15 gallons of drink, picked up 200 donuts, brought 400 snacks and a plethora of hygiene items. We went home with an empty car. I love how happy everyone is to see us. Our friends at the park are all so kind, patient and helpful as we set up. The other week there was a lady from another park helping out and she was surprised at how pleasant everyone coming through the line was. She mentioned how she usually is getting yelled at. I think Washington Square Park is so pleasant because the volunteers we have are so incredibly kind. I have never heard a rude or unkind word expressed. When people are treated with genuine kindness, respect and love they show it in return. I love Saturdays, no matter how hectic they get at times.
